Amarnath Shakti Peeth is one of the sacred pilgrimage for Hindu devotees of Shakti and Lord Shiva, and worshipped since ages at least 5000 years back. Located in Anantnag district of Pahalgaon, Jammu & Kashmir, at the altitude of 12,760 feet.

Amarnath Shakti Peeth
The place where Amarnath Dham and Mahamaya Shakti Temple boasts in the Amarnath Gufa, which is about130 ft long and Shiva Lingam is naturally formed with ice and rest in the cave, thought to be older than 5000 years.
The Shiva Lingam of ice increase and decrease according to waxing and waning of moon and forms full length only on the night of Shiva Purnima. The cave located in Sindh Valley which is covered with snow most of the year, only some days of summer it opens for pilgrims.

Mahamaya Shakti Peeth Also Home To Amarnath Shakti Peeth
The Amarnath cave is also home to Mahamaya Shakti Peeth, is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths. It Is believed that, Lord Shiva was teaching about immortality to his wife, Parvati, at this place. Mahamaya shakti peeth formed after the body parts of Sati, Throat, was fell here.
It is believed that worships Goddess Mahamaya and bhairava Trisandhyeshwar, a form Lord Shiva, enjoys pleasure of ‘Moksh’ in Shivalok in Heaven. Amarnath and Mahamaya Shakti Peeth both are places in Amarnath cave Temple.
According to Hindu mythology, the goddess Durga, is also known as Dakshayani, Sati, Parvati, who are the incarnations of Durga. In other hand Durga, Mahakali, and Maha Gowri are the three main avatar of Adi Shakti, Mahamaya.
The Main Specialty Of Amarnath Shakti Peeth
Amarnath Shakti Peeth is one of the most sacred pilgrimage for Hindu, due to it’s specialty of Swayambhu Shiva lingam, made of ice naturally which can be increase and decrease according to waxing and waning of the ice time time.
The lingam is a natural stalagmite formation of 130 feet tall Amarnath Cave made with freezing water drops pouring from the top of the cave to the floor, forms an icy solid base which shaped later as Shiva Lingam looks like. Another 2 shape of stalagmite icy formation is thought as Parvati and Ganesha.
Festival Of Amarnath Shakti Peeth
Shravani Mela held on July August, during the 45 days festival season of month of Shravan. According Hindu Mythology the Shravan month is dedicated to worship of Shiva and pilgrims like to visit this time, when Shiva Lingam reaching the apex of it’s waxing phase during the summer.
Amarnath Yatra which is arranged by Government at the time of July August. It was started from Srinagar first time but now a days simplified with more convenient way, from Pahalgam and completed the trekking during 5 days. to Amarnath Cave.
How To Reach Amarnath Shakti Peeth
Railway : Nearest Rail Station is Jammu. From there buses and cabs are available to reach Pahalgam.
By Air : Nearest airport Srinagar, daily flight is available from Delhi and Jammu and in a week from Chandigarh and Leh. From Srinagar taxi and buses are available to Pahalgam and Baltal.
Helicopter service also available from Jammu to Amarnath Shakti Peeth. It is most convenient way to reach Amarnath in a day.
