Sati was married with Lord Shiva also. After married she shifted to Kailash Parbat, the home of Lord Shiva. Once Dakhsh has arranged a big “Yajna” (some kind of big worship), and invited all Devtas in his home except Lord Shiva and Parvati.

When Sati heard this she wanted to go to her parent house but Shiva warned her not to go there for they were not invited. But Sati still insisted and Shiva agreed her to go. When she entered her parent house no body talked with her except her mother. She tried to talk to her father but he was so angry he started to abuse Lord Shiva violently. Sati tried to calm him but she was not succeeded and his father turned more violent and roughly abused Shiva.

Mata Sati was so surprised and she can’t tolerate her father to abuse her husband. She fainted and burnt her self on the Yajna Kund. When Shiva heard this news he was so angry he came to her house and destroyed every thing and killed Dakhsh.
